General Information

There are a number of Urban legends/ Myth;s that have grown up around the Halloween Holiday. Below are links to some of the most common ones. Unfortunately I continue to see and hear them get repeated as fact year after year by well intentioned individuals, but who are not using their critical powers of reason/. I even see this reported as news by various media outlets year after year. Are there bad and twisted individuals out there in society? Of course. Do they magically multiply and or work in concert with each other on Halloween Night? No. Are they the norm? No. Are they as common and as big a danger as some would have us believe? No. Should we lock up our pets for fear of having then sacrificed by roving groups of Satanic thugs? No. Should we lock our kids in the house instead of having them visit with their neighbors? No. Should we worry and worry that our kids will get a tainted piece of candy or fruit? No. Is it possible? Yes almost anything is possible. But is it likely at all? No. Should we as parents exercise some common sense and safety rules for our kids at Halloween? Absolutely! And when you hear one of these sensational stories use your God given gift of critical thinking and reason to decide if it really is true (or even possible) before passing it on to someone else!
